Lies

In my first year of primary school, I was the only person who had a birthday in November. This knowledge made me feel exceptionally proud and unique; when you're four years old, that kind of thing is very important.

This changed in my second year of primary school, however, when a new boy entered my class with a birthday in November. And not only was his birthday in November, but it was also perilously close to mine; mine is November 29th, and his was November 30th.

I did not like this.

So much so, in fact, that I decided that his birthday physically could not be in November. There was no possible way; as far as I was concerned from that point on, until I left that school, there were only 29 days in November. Every time he said his birthday was November 30th, I disputed the claim and told him and everyone else that it simply must be December 1st, as there was no November 30th.

Immature, yes. But in my defence, I was only four or five.
